Dr. Jay Raynor, DMD
Dentist – Peterborough
Naturally, I jumped at the opportunity to practice in the Monadnock region since I was born and raised in Harrisville, NH. There is something amazing about New England and New Hampshire particularly. I went to Keene High School, then on to UNH for a BS in Plant Biology. I attended Tufts Dental School where I met my best friend, wife and fellow dentist, Dr. Steph Raynor. My practice philosophy is simple; treat every patient as you would want to be treated. All of my treatment plans are subject to this litmus test: would I perform this treatment on my wife or daughter? I also enlist the help of each patient to determine what is best for them by giving options, discussing the pros and cons of each and collectively determining their unique path to oral health. I like to spend spare time with my family, fishing, mountain biking and reading.

After growing up in a suburban town near Atlanta, GA, I received my BS in Nutrition Science from the University of Georgia. I then relocated to Boston, MA to attend Tufts Dental. Moving to NH was a major transition but I’ve truly enjoyed becoming a New Englander and feel very fortunate to be practicing dentistry with my husband. I believe in making our patients feel like members of our family. My goal is to help patients understand their treatment and feel comfortable in the dental chair. I enjoy traveling and spending my free time with Dr. Jay, our children Nola and Rowen, and our dog Doc.

I grew up in south coast Massachusetts and I love just about everything that is New England. I received my BS in Cell and Molecular Biology from Tulane University and continued to get my MS in Human Genetics from Tulane University School of Medicine. I then moved to Kentucky to attend dental school at University of Louisville School of Dentistry to obtain my DMD. Being away from home for nearly a decade, I knew I wanted to be closer to friends and family, so I am now happily back in New England! Dentistry for me is not just my job; it’s something that I look forward to every Monday. I enjoy meeting and knowing all of my patients and my philosophy is to provide you the same care that I would provide for my mother. I love to rock climb, ski and countless other outdoor activities.

I was born and raised just down the road in New Ipswich, NH. I am delighted to return to the Monadnock region after spending 8 years in Boston for my undergraduate and dental education. I attended Boston University majoring in Human Physiology, as well as Boston University’s Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine, where I received my Doctor of Dental Medicine. It brings me great excitement to share my passion for dentistry with the community I grew up in. It is my goal to make every patient feel at ease when under my care. I can promise that you will never feel rushed or pressured into treatment when sitting in my chair. When I’m not at the office you can find me hiking Monadnock, golfing in Jaffrey, or snowboarding up north.
Dr. Jacqueline Velez, DMD
Dentist – Peterborough
I grew up in Fitchburg, MA and I have been involved in dentistry for over ten years. My career in dentistry began when I attended a vocational high school and learned Dental Assisting as a trade. I went on to attend the University of Massachusetts where I received a Bachelors of Science in Public Health. I earned my Doctorate of Dental Medicine degree at The University of New England College of Dental Medicine where I also received an award in Clinical Excellence. Outside of dentistry, I enjoy spending time with family and hiking, mountain biking and doing arts and crafts.

After growing up in Fitchburg, MA, I began my career in dentistry at Monty Tech where I learned dental assisting as a trade. I fell in love with Maine and decided to attend the University of New England in Biddeford, ME, where I obtained my BS in Medical Biology. I then went on to receive my DMD at the University of New England College of Dental Medicine in Portland, ME. Graduating at the top of my dental class, I received the Academic Excellence Award and was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon (OKU) national dental honor society based on high scholarship and character. I met my wife, Dr. Jacqueline Velez while in high school and we are now both realizing our dream of being dentists. My aim is to get to know my patients’ individual needs and help them reach their oral health goals in a comfortable environment. I enjoy hiking, fishing, riding my motorcycle and spending time with family and friends.

I was born in Brooklyn, NY and grew up on Long Island—my family is from Ukraine. I attended Stony Brook University for undergrad, where I graduated Summa Cum Laude, then Harvard School of Dental Medicine where I earned the International College of Dentists Leadership Award and ASDA Award of Excellence. As a dentist, I love the opportunity to get to know my patients and the ability to continuously learn and improve my skills. My partner Catherine and I love the proximity to great hiking spots here. Keene has a great small city vibe while still being a 10-minute drive from farm stands. Some fun facts: Russian is my first language, I can wiggle my ears, I enjoy computer programming, and I have won a hands-free pie eating contest by a landslide (the secret is committing).

I grew up and lived in Fort Myers, FL, where I attended Florida Gulf Coast University for undergrad. I then went to Barry University in Hollywood, FL for my Master’s, and Tufts Dental School in Boston, MA, where I fell in love with the seasons. Fall is my favorite! New England is also a great place to raise a family and the mountain views can’t be beat. My favorite part of dentistry is being able to help a patient feel confident in their smile. I chose to join Raynor Dental because there is a great work environment, mentorship, and the opportunity for growth as a clinician. I have many interests, but they have kind of taken the backseat to my new son! I love to go biking and hiking, I play the piano and violin, and I have a chocolate lab named Rascal who lives up to his name. My husband Spencer and I like to travel and one of our favorite cities is Nashville. We want to do a Europe trip soon!
