Dentist – Peterborough

Born and raised in Manchester, New Hampshire, Dr. Derek Collins has always felt a strong connection to New England. He grew up playing travel hockey, which allowed him to explore neighboring states like Massachusetts, Vermont, Maine, and Connecticut, forming a deep appreciation for the people and the lifestyle of the region. His academic journey began at Saint Anselm College, where he graduated cum laude, was inducted into the Beta Beta Beta Biological Honor Society, and served as a peer tutor in biochemistry, biology, and physics. He went on to complete his dental degree at Boston University and pursued a one-year post-graduate residency in Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) at East Carolina University.

Dr. Collins’ favorite aspect of dentistry lies in its dynamic nature, requiring a keen ability to diagnose conditions and tailor treatments to each patient’s unique needs and goals. He is dedicated to preventative care and believes in early intervention to promote healthier and happier smiles. During his interview at Raynor Dental Peterborough, Dr. Collins was struck by the team’s collaborative atmosphere and commitment to exceptional patient care, which led him to join the practice.

When he’s not practicing dentistry, Dr. Collins enjoys spending time with his family and friends, attending local professional sporting events and collecting sports cards—a passion he’s had since childhood. In his free time, Dr. Collins loves exploring unique small businesses and local cuisine throughout New England. He’s excited to be a part of the Raynor Dental family and looks forward to building lasting relationships with his patients and the Peterborough community.
